CSN: Trade Unions and Third World Alliance
The Confédération des Syndicats Nationaux (CSN) has long been involved in international solidarity through its projects with trade union or civil society organisations in various parts of the world. The CSN is convinced that the greater the international solidarity between workers, the greater their global power will be. In 1986, the CSN created the “Trade Unions and Third World Alliance" (ASTM) fund, to channel the efforts of its affiliated organisations in terms of international solidarity. Since its creation, the ASTM has supported dozens of projects in some 20 countries, promoting development cooperation, capacity building for trade union organisations, food sovereignty and the defence of rights.
