ILO video: ‘Trade unions help migrant workers realise their rights in Thailand’ (January 2013).

ILO Director General Guy Ryder visited Thailand in 2013. He toured the Marine Gold Products Company PP Tan shrimp peeling facility in Samut Sakhon Province, where he met with workers and managers on the factory floor to hear first-hand about their working lives. The video also showcases the work of the Migrant Worker Resource Centre (MRC) in Samut Sakhon, run by the Thai Trade Union Congress (TTUC). The MRC is reaching out to migrant workers to inform them of their rights at work and enabling access to justice. The MRC is supporting the cases of Kyaw Min Nai, a male Myanmar migrant worker whose brother was sold to a fishing boat in Thailand; and Thu Zar, a female Myanmar migrant worker who is fighting for compensation for a serious hand injury she incurred at her workplace.
