The banana and associated workers’ union Sindicato Industrial de Trabajadores Costarricenses del Banano y Afines Libre (SINTRACOBAL) and the IUF’s regional organisation for Latin America (Rel-UITA) made a significant breakthrough in the recruitment process in September 2013, when they gained access to COBAL-Chiquita plantations in Limón.
